This position is responsible for overall management and implementation of the project. He/she will be accountable for the successful delivery of the goal and outcomes, regularly monitor and report the progress in achieving them, ensure coordination with key stakeholders such as local government institutions, DRRO, PIOs, other humanitarian actors, local leaders, CBOs, etc. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring that the activity follows project log frame, implementation plan, and budget.

  • Plan, manage, monitor, and oversee the different steps and stages of project execution and ensure the accomplished the activities as per design.
  • Develop scheme wise detailed budget and implementation plan.
  • Manage the project resources (budget and human resources) properly for maximum cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Travel frequently to the field (at least 50%), monitor progress, and identify risks for timely action and early resolution.
  • Update and suggest DRMP senior management on the direction, strategies, and technical issues of the project.
  • Provide technical guidance in the implementation of project activities and adapt accordingly.
  • Provide guidance to the team members on program quality standards, management quality procedures and DRR best practices.
  • Determine staff technical capacity building needs and decide on necessary training, feedback, guidance and support to ensure optimum performance.
  • Supervise staff to ensure the timely, efficient, and impactful implementation of the project.
  • Prepare project reports (progress, financial, etc.) for management information, oversight, and action in a timely manner
  • Ensure that environmental, resilience, and sustainability issues are considered in the project activity implementation.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure the desired outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance for all actions and activities with organizational rules, regulations, policies, strategies, and internal control mechanisms and the achievement of results according to the principles of results-based management.
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Education
  • Masters
Experience
  • At least 5 years
Additional Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in humanitarian response, or development sector with govt. agencies and/or I/NGOs.
  • Conversant with the national and international humanitarian architecture, particularly coordination, networking, strategic collaboration/partnership, and funding.
  • Disaster Management framework of Bangladesh.
  • Global, regional, and national level humanitarian architecture.
  • Sound knowledge on Sphere and all other humanitarian framework and standards.
  • Computer Literacy (MS-Word, Excel, power point etc.)
  • Excellent speaking and writing skill both in Bangla and English
  • Team building and leading capacity and ability to work under pressure and deadline
  • Flexible to face new challenges
  • Analytical thinking, decision making, report writing
